And that Mayor in this case happens to be Linda Buchanan, the mayor of the City of North Vancouver.
Buchanan recently spun a yarn with Queen Mary Elementary Students as part of the Drop Everything and Read Day at the city library.
Drop Everything and Read Day (D.E.A.R) is an initiative to encourage families to designate at least 30 minutes to put aside all distractions and enjoy books together.
The Mayor’s pick was a book about the importance of learning new skills and helping others, according to CNV communications.
The event was also the first events of the new Read with the Mayor program which will reach classes and groups across the City.
Read with the Mayor will happen approximately four times per year.
