Green Party Leader Elizabeth May will be in North Vancouver this Sunday, March 31, to launch campaign and and fundraiser for George Orr, Green Party of Canada Candidate for North Vancouver.
The event is happening at The Profile Coworking Business Club at 120 Lonsdale Avenue, Suite 100 in North Vancouver.
“I’m thrilled that George Orr has accepted the nomination to run for the Green Party of Canada in the 2019 election,” May said.
“It was a hotly contested nomination and I’d like to thank the other candidates, Michael Doherty and Paul Hundel for their efforts and commitment to the party.
May said support for Green Part is strong across the country.
“I saw this first hand on the Community Matters Tour. Strong candidates like George will build on that momentum right up to election day.”
A veteran broadcast journalist, George Orr says he committed to run an energetic campaign that connects him with people in the community.
“As a journalist I looked at both sides of every issue and tried to be fair, balanced and objective,” he said.
“Eventually, I realised that reporting on issues wasn’t enough, I wanted the opportunity to do more. The Green Party’s values and policies were a natural fit for me.”
