Classes at Capilano University’s new campus in the Shipyards begin in November.
Starting November 1, all of Capilano University’s Continuing Studies and Executive Education will be based out of CapU Lonsdale, said Linda Munro, senior communications officer for the university.
By January 2020, more courses will be offered, including courses in Paralegal studies, Tourism Management, and Public Administration.
CapU Lonsdale is an extension of Capilano University’s main campus, located on the second floor of 125 Victory Ship Way in the Shipyards building on the waterfront in Lower Lonsdale.
CapU Lonsdale includes six classrooms, meeting rooms, and flexible space for such activity as arts & culture events, showcases, etc.
The new location will enable increased capacity for programs, community outreach opportunities, and flexible day, evening, and weekend programming, the university said.
CapU Lonsdale will be open to the public from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday. Classes are scheduled in the evenings and weekends and the space is accessible by CapUCard.
The new campus will create capacity for more programs and services at Capilano University’s main campus on Purcell Way.
CapU Lonsdale represents an exceptional opportunity for us to broaden our outreach and community contributions, strengthen local connections and provide a strong selection of our programming in a central location on the North Shore,” says Paul Dangerfield, president of Capilano University.
