As many as 11 snow plows will be on the road clearing snow in the District of North Vancouver.
“Our crews constantly monitor road and weather conditions. We have supplies stockpiled to prepare the roads and all of the plows tuned up,” said Courtenay Rannard, the communications coordinator for DNV.
Rannard said crews are continuing to clear streets, as well as sidewalks around schools. Updates will be posted on the district’s Twitter account using the hashtag #DNVSnow.
Residents can follow the hashtag for real time updates about snow removal throughout the District.
To help keep our neighbourhoods safe, DNV is encouraging residents to drive carefully and clear the sidewalk in front of their home or business.
DNV is also reminding residents of a few things they can do on our around their property to stay safe and help during a snowfall:
- Park in your driveway (not on the street)
- Remove snow from your sidewalk & footpaths
- Check and see if your neighbours need help
- Clear snow from catch basins to prevent flooding
